Popular dance group, New Generation, thrilled revellers with its five-hour polished performance at Mega 1 Bar recently.

The bar was packed as usual and securing a parking space was quite a task. Cold weather on the night could not deter merrymakers from thronging the place and the group seemed to warm the night for everyone.

With four male and an equal number of female dancers, the group kept revellers on their toes as many were eager to try every move the talented dancers on stage.

They danced to numerous genres and executed numerous dance paces with zeal and expertise. The crowd applauded and cheered the dancers as performance heated up with every song.

“We are a self sponsored dance group that I started with my brothers and the girls and we are out to showcase our talents through entertaining the nation,” said group manager, Arthur Garayi.

He said they were full-time dancers and this year they would definitely shine as they had a big line up of performances throughout the year.

They performed an act to the famous Alick Macheso song Wemakonzo before going on to do dramatic imitations of musicians like Mako Sibanda and Hosiah Chipanga.

As the night progressed, one would have expected the team to grow weary as they had extreme hype in their first acts but when they later performed Murambinda by Paul Mpofu and Solo naMutsai from Jonah Moyo, the dancers seemed to get energised with every act.

“Wow! These people are so talented, they will certainly go places, even the musicians should be grateful for these people as their acts bring out the humour in the songs which the musicians themselves fail to present at times,” said an impressed reveller.
