Despite the upsurge in cases of Covid-19 in Zimbabwe, United Kingdom-based comedian King Kandoro, born Mukudzei Kandoro has set dates for his tour of Harare and Bulawayo.

The tour dubbed The Prodigal Son, is set for December 22 in Harare and December 24 in Bulawayo.

“So far we have confirmed dates for Harare and Bulawayo, but we were willing to do more shows in Gweru, Victoria Falls, and Mutare but the Covid-19 situation at hand won’t allow us to do so,” King Kandoro said.

“In terms of supporting acts, for this tour, I’m going to be relying heavily on the relationships that I have made with different artists over the years.

“People should be prepared to see some of the most exciting young artists in both music and comedy. If I were to share names now, it might ruin the surprise.

“Fans should expect a good time, that’s all they should look forward to; there are stories about marriage, being a father, being foreign among other issues.

“I think it’s a very fun show, for me as a performer and for the audience to be part of.”

The Prodigal Son comes as a follow up to his ‘conspiracy theories’ which he staged in 2019

“The Prodigal Son tour is a follow up to my debut comedy special, Conspiracy Theories, which I performed in December 2019 to a sold-out show at Reps Theatre.

“The Prodigal Son is a story heavily premised on the concept of finding your way ‘home’, amidst the confusion and delight that comes with being an adult, a husband, a father in a foreign land.”
