Divine insight: Mystery of the remnant

Remnants are the last the spark of hope for the fulfillment of God’s plans.  There is always something that is left behind, that is a seed.

God through out the bible   boasts of having a Remnant, which leaves one wondering what it really is? A remnant is a left-over amount from a larger portion, it can be a cloth, a portion of food or a group of people. This part or portion is usually looked down upon and not regarded as of much value. The bible carries stories of remnants from Noah and his Family, to the prophets who Obadiah had hidden from Ahab and his wife Jezebel. Remnants are the last the spark of hope for the fulfillment of God’s plans.  There is always something that is left behind, that is a seed. It’s hard to see this seed because it does not appear to have value.

1 Kings 19:18 (KJV) Yet I have left me seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him.

In the days of Ahab Israel was corrupted by ungodly practices, many worshiped baal and did forsake the God of Israel and Elijah thought he was the only one left who still believed in the ways of the God Israel. But God revealed to him that he had over seven thousand people who had not compromised, those who still believed. In each generation God always has a group of people he hides and separates for his plan who are not compromised by culture or the ungodly ways of their generation. Remnants are not limited to people, but also anything that can be used as a seed to reawaken God’s plan for your life. In that seemingly dying business there is a remnant even in that failing marriage there is a remnant, a seed that can be used to restore that thing to its former glory. Noah and his sons went into the ark as a remnant and were able to re-populate the world.

When many look at the flood of Noah they see the anger of God but the flood was not an act of anger, but of love. Angels had slept with the daughters of man and had corrupted the man who God had created. So in an effort to preserve man, God saved the only family that had not been corrupted. Remnants are that portion that has not been corrupted, that can be used for restoration .

In God’s eyes, remnants have great value because they are an extension to the fulfillment of His plan. Remnants are Godly seeds separated in each generation. The bible speaks about how the last days shall be like the days of Noah. Many in the world in the days of Noah were corrupted so also in the last days many shall be corrupted. Many bible scholars conclude this is spiritual corruption but in the days of Noah people were corrupted physical as well as spiritually.  The DNA was no longer perfect, it had mutated. So also in our time, the DNA of man shall be corrupted. The bible does not give us details of how man’s DNA will be corrupted or what man will mutate to but it just suggests it shall be like the days of Noah. In the days of Noah men became gaints because of the intermingling of species and we don’t have all the information what other changes happened to man. But even in the midst of all that corruption God had a preserved seed. Even in the last days God will have a seed.

God bless you.
