From boardroom leadership to high-level national programmes, Edith Mugarisanwa continues to make a meaningful contribution to Zimbabwe’s development through professionalism, precision and consistent execution.
With over 20 years at Zesa Holdings, she has built a reputation for operating effectively in high-pressure environments where attention to detail, confidentiality and coordination are critical.
As personal assistant to the managing director at Zesa Enterprises, she supports a wide range of strategic functions, including corporate and state events, board engagements, international travel and key stakeholder meetings.
Her role has seen her coordinate high-profile engagements such as Presidential visits, parliamentary portfolio meetings and investor interactions — all handled with calm authority and disciplined efficiency.
Beyond execution, Mugarisanwa has also played a mentorship role, training and guiding administrative professionals while contributing to initiatives such as annual secretaries’ conventions aimed at raising institutional standards.
Speaking to Standard Style, she said discipline and preparation are central to her work ethic.
“Service starts with discipline — being prepared, keeping details accurate, and supporting others to perform at their best. When everything is properly coordinated, the entire programme becomes stronger,” she said.
Her impact has earned her a nomination for the Top Leadership and Strategic Support Executive Assistant of the Year Award 2026 by the Global Business Achievers Network.

“The nomination is a great honour. I am grateful for the recognition and remain committed to serving my organisation and my country with excellence,” she said.
“Growth comes through commitment and passion.”
Among her standout achievements is her role in coordinating the Miss Uhuru programme during the 2024 Independence Celebrations in Mutare, working in collaboration with the Office of the President and Cabinet.
“National programmes require early planning, clear communication and attention to detail. The Miss Uhuru experience reinforced the importance of executing with purpose and professionalism,” she said.
More recently, she was part of a STEM mentorship and educational tour at St. Hughes Ushwokunze Secondary School in Dema, supported by Zesa Enterprises under its corporate social responsibility programme.
The initiative brought together government officials, the Junior Parliament and private sector stakeholders, contributing to the development of a school laboratory and reinforcing the importance of education and innovation.
Through her work, Mugarisanwa continues to exemplify excellence in execution, proving that strong administrative leadership remains a cornerstone of effective institutions and impactful national programmes.
