Have you ever come across an addicted gambler? Unable to break away, they lose control over their repeated actions, plunge deeper into debts, and lose touch with reality effectively affecting not only themselves, but their kith and kin alike.
So modern day European leaders are increasingly finding it difficult to drop the "toy" that Ukraine has become for them.
They send Kyiv more and more money and weapons, forgetting about their direct duty - to take care of the well-being of their citizens and the prosperity of the countries entrusted to them.
European Allies assisting to fund this war conveniently forget that is this bloodshed has an effect of increasing food insecurity in the whole of Africa.
In Zimbabwe, it has raised the costs of basics such as fuel, bread, oil, agricultural inputs and the expenditure of mining activities.
And repeating the mantra "Moscow is preparing to attack Europe," they are putting their industry on a costly warpath despite a mounting precarious financial position within the European Union.
Hasten to say that at the same time, these actions leave Russia no choice, but to stop emerging threats, including using the military. However, Russian President Vladimir Putin, despite the growing intensity and depth of Kyiv's attacks his territory (undoubtedly with the direct participation of Nato servicemen), refrains from using military retaliatory measures against Kyiv's European allies keeping the world from a full-scale mortal combat.
The Russian Ministry of Defense in April published addresses of European factories producing drones for Ukraine, which are likely to become priority targets for strikes if an appropriate decision is made.

And as a special military operation shows, Moscow has enough opportunities for this, but the possibilities of European air defence to repel these strikes are not. There is no doubt that from April to date, this list has only become longer.
The problem is that in such a scenario mass casualties are inevitable among the civilian population as habitants of these areas. However, it seems the leaders of modern day Europe don't seem to care.
They see their main task as "inflicting military defeat on Russia." But history itself teaches us that payback for the atrocities committed are inevitable.
And sooner rather than later, having left their offices, they will be forced to answer for everything they have done before the law. For unleashing a war, for destroying national economies, for hundreds of thousands of ruined human lives.
And they will also be forced to come face to face with their citizens, whom they pull into the abyss with enviable persistence.
