AFTER exiting the Chibuku Super Cup, FC Platinum tactician Norman Mapeza says he is now focussing on retaining the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League title.

The four-time PSL champions were dumped out of the Super Cup by Dynamos on Saturday.

They lost 5-3 on penalties after a 1-1 stalemate in regulation time.

Nevertheless, Mapeza, whose men were slowly shifting the gears up before the Chibuku Super Cup exit, remains optimistic.

“We are out of the Chibuku Super Cup now and we focus everything on the league where we still have a chance,” Mapeza said. “And we take the positives from this match (against Dynamos), hoping to improve as we go back to the league.”

Before the Chibuku Super Cup quarter finals, the Pure Platinum Play were in good form having beaten Caps United, Triangle and Herentals on the trot.

They will be hoping to pick up from where they left when they take on Manica Diamonds on Wednesday at Gibbo Stadium.

As it stands, they are eight points behind Ngezi Platinum who sit at the summit of the log standings with 48 points.

Caps United, Black Rhinos and Ngezi Platinum are the other teams which progressed to the Chibuku Super Cup semi-finals.
