Mthuli indicating right and turning left

Mthuli Ncube

My Dear People

I, your good doctor, was hardly surprised by the dog’s breakfast served up by the country’s worst finance minister since 1980.

What was shocking though was the extent of incompetence and insensitivity of this dispensation of poverty, darkness and confusion.

The revelations that they owe a staggering US$98 million to the Basic Education Assistance Model(Beam), which is meant to pay fees for disadvantaged children and orphans and more than US$28 million to Psmas, which is  the medical aid for civil servants exposed the ineptness and callousness of this regime.

Moreso that they fail to pay for such crucial national needs, but can pay 118% of the allocated budget to buy luxury cars for chiefs as well as build VVIP lounges at airports.

In a damning indictment of the double standards that permeate the halls of Munhumutapa building, the nutty professor, in his wisdom or lack thereof, has introduced a cash withdrawal levy at a time the regime is on a drive to encourage Zimbabweans to bank through formal channels.

Indeed it is a case of indicating right and turning left. The levy comes on top of multiple bank charges which includes a debit card management fee, ZimSwitch charges and monthly management fees will only further discourage the country’s citizens to keep their money under the mattress.

This morally bankrupt regime has honed shooting itself in the foot into a fine art.

Munopengaaa!!!

The nightmare of this anti-poor budget sadly  did not end there however. The nutty one removed 0,5% of the  punitive 2% intermediated money transfer tax(IMTT) on transactions in the funny money otherwise known as Zimbabwe Gold( ZiG) and went on to add the exact percentage to Value Added Tax.

In other words he gave with the right before grabbing with the left.

In a clear act that showed that this so called second republic does not give a toss about the welfare of its citizens, the regime retained the 2% IMTT on United States dollar transactions of which are the majority.

The regime spokesperson Nicky then laughably posted on microblogging  site X, that the IMMT reaction is a great indicator of a listening government.

No nurse Nicky, if it was a listening government it would have removed the IMTT completely.

But then what does one expect from a spokesperson who foolishly lies that a regime sponsored bozo is a former Australian prime minister.

The Scarfmore regime waxed lyrical that it has allocated more than 15% of the budget to the health sector as agreed by African governments in a meeting in Abuja in 2001.

That this is the first time this cabal has done so since being barrelled into power in 2017 is a shameful indicator of the neglect of this vital sector by this regime.

Of course it remains to be seen how much of this allocated amount will actually be paid to the health sector which been characterised by lack of basic medicine which have turned public hospitals into death traps.

Given its past record of dismal failure to pay even half of what it has allocated, I am not holding my breath!

Munopengaaa!!!

We have always known that democracy is a stranger to this dispensation of poverty, darkness and confusion.

But the aversion for democracy has reached sinster and absolutely ridiculous levels.

The formation of a group, which calls itself the Zimbabwe Anti - Presidential Criticism shows that democracy under the regime of the Scarfed One is going down the toilet faster than you can say Ngwena.

They have already orchestrated the arrest of a man for criticising Ngwena.

The spokesman of this shadowy grouping then ordered Zimbos to stop ‘criticising the president’.

It is embarrassing and shameful that in this day and age we have efforts to stop the criticism of a head of state as if he is some kind of all-knowing deity.

The leaders of countries which have properly functioning currencies and which do not run their economies through feja feja policies, face trenchant criticism on a daily basis which is par for the course for anyone in such a position of leadership.

What more for a president who has presided over prolonged power outages, hyperinflation, failed currencies which can be devalued by more than 40% at one go and entrenched poverty among other ills?

By allowing clowns such as this anti-presidential criticism grouping, the Scarfed One faces the prospect of turning his presidency into a full blown circus.

Munopengaaa!!!

The downfall of MDC leader Dougie is continuing at a rapid pace.

After losing relevance after failing to garner a single council or parliamentary seat in the 2022 by elections and 2023 harmonised elections, the bespectacled fella now faces eviction from Harvest House, the party’s headquarters with the banner on the building with his face being removed.

From someone who, with a stroke of a pen, could bring to a premature end the tenure of an MDC councillor or parliamentarian to being reduced to the bowels of obscurity with the added threat of being booted out of the party, the fall of Dougie is spectacular and would make for good reading should his misfortunes be ever be written about in a book.
