SCORES of vulnerable people in Harare’s Mabvuku, Tafara and surrounding areas got an early festive season treat after a charity organisation Hand of Love Foundation donated food hampers and non-food items to them last weekend.
The charity organisation is the brainchild of popular preacher Prophet Tawanda Bondera, who is also the founder of Grace Harvest Ministries.
The event, which was also part of the church’s Sunday service held at Grace Harvest Ministries international Cathedral of Grace in Mabvuku, saw vulnerable groups of people, including the elderly, people with disabilities and other less privileged members from communities in and around Mabvuku and Tafara benefitting.
Speaking at the event, Prophet Bondera preached on the importance of giving.
“Any act of generosity should be driven purely by love,” Prophet Bondera said.
“According to John 3 versus 16, God first loved the world before he gave His only begotten son. So, it was love first before giving.
“If a person does not have trust in God, he will find it difficult to give because generosity entails trusting in God that He will give you more.”

The donations included hampers, consisting of mealie meal, cooking oil, rice, soap and other basic food and non food items.
The charity organisation sourced the items through its partners from both within the country and outside, including children of the ministry.
Beneficiaries expressed gratitude over the donation.
“We welcome this donation coming from our servant of God Prophet Bondera,” said Gogo Chingoma from Tafara.
“Some of us, we had no food at all, but God answered us through this man. We thank you Prophet.”
The Hand of Love Foundation is still engaging its partners with the hope of hosting similar events before year end.
The organisation appealed to well-wishers interested in the initiative to come on board.
