Warner Music South Africa, which is the South African affiliate of Warner Music Group (WMG), is based in Hyde Park, Gauteng. Founded in 1958, WMG is an American multinational entertainment and record label conglomerate headquartered in New York City. The recording company which is a division of the American film studio Warner Bros, is a renowned global leader in music repertoire and home to some of the best-known labels in the recorded music industry. Page, who is from South Africa, was discovered via the internet on the ever evolving social media platforms. The ‘Capetonian’ teenager’s unique mesmerising vocal and ukulele covers led to her first sound recording deal. She signed with alt-pop record label — Bad Future — in mid-2020. Her surreal debut song titled ‘Don’t Believe The Aliens’ was released in late 2020. Swathing with bumper-to-bumper clarity, Page’s piece of music is tantamount atmospheric and cosy. It is defined by easygoing yet larger-than-life melodies, swivelled on brooding strings and a minimal drum line that at times falls into a metronome-like beat. With a distinctive sultry communicative style, Page’s amazing talent has not gone unnoticed, ‘Don’t Believe The Aliens’ was selected by Fortnite — a video game giant — for their video-game ‘Underground Car Radio Station’.

The latter musical composition was included on Spotify’s Radar Africa playlist, which features the most exciting artists on the rise from the African continent. Additionally, ‘Don’t Believe The Aliens’ scored numerous other playlist inclusions namely Spotify’s New Music Friday South Africa, Apple Music’s New Music Daily, Future Hits, New In Pop, Wildflower, Alt Pop, New In Alternative and Mzansi Indie, as well as Deezer’s New South Africa.

Page’s second piece of music called ‘Kill All The Heroes’, was included on Passport Approved — an internationally syndicated taste maker import radio show — which airs on over 50 radio stations and six continents worldwide. The auditory sensation stormed its way up and reached number 2 on 5FM’s Indie Chart, with the support of her team from Bad Future. Page has also received support from Record Of The Day, Early Rising, Podcart, Going Solo, Conversations About Her, BizCommunity, Texx and The City, as well as numerous other taste-makers.

Warner Music South Africa is exceedingly blissful to welcome Page to the global record label’s multi-talented creatives of diverse upcoming and seasoned internationally recognised artists and producers of South African and African pedigree. The record label’s creative lead, Garth Brownself-confessed WMSA’s recent acquisition.

“It took me under a minute to know that I wanted to sign Tyler Page. From the moment I heard her voice, I was blown away by her sheer talent and power. Every time I thought I couldn’t be any more captured by a voice, I’d find something different from her tone, control and range that would send shivers down my spine. I believe that the world awaits her, and it’s an honour for Warner Music South Africa to be a part of this journey,” Brown said.

Buoyed up by her spellbinding vocals and jovial to have sealed off a major recording deal, Page, who looks forward to the journey ahead, expressed her devout feelings.

“This literally feels like my dream is finally coming true. I’m so excited to work with Warner Music South Africa. I am ecstatic about this!” Page said.

Poised by a vibrant recording label, there will be numerous chart-topping hits in Page’s career which has already had quite a blissful start. The alt-pop singer’s future is beyond bright as she flourishes and develops her music into a unique sound guaranteed to capture international recognition.
