Magitare Africa Trust says their  acoustic nights are back on February 25 at The Oasis, Bulawayo.

Magitare Acoustic Night is a family-friendly event held once a month. It brings a night of acoustic performances from musicians, poets and comedians and any other performance art.

“Magitare Africa Trust is excited to announce that the acoustic nights are back. The event is aimed at nurturing creative talent as well as creating a community of musicians that foster global understanding through the arts and can harness their influence for community development,” Magitare Africa Trust said in a press release.

“It is an event for artists, by artistes. The success of the event is based on a realisation that for an artiste to succeed, they need to be a part of an ecosystem that will allow the artist to thrive.”

Magitare Africa Trust said the platform also helps create opportunities for each other through networking among others.

“Not only is it a performance platform, but artists exchange ideas and skills, share experiences and create opportunities for each other through networking,” said the trust.

“The stage allows the artist to experiment with new material till it is ripe for the world market.

“Parallel to the event are various workshops designed for artists to prepare themselves for the international stage.

“This vision is also shared by our partners The Oasis Creative hub, who also envision a space where artists thrive because they have the necessary support.”

The trust said The Oasis is a platform that brings together Bulawayo’s creators and change-makers and empowers them to create solutions to the city’s challenges through entrepreneurship and the arts.

“Magitare hosted the inaugural event at The Oasis and featured poets Thando Sibanda and Michelle Tanya, as well as musicians Real Shona, Thandi Bhala and Tariro neGitare.
