Crooner Mbeu has described his latest release titled Manera, which means “ladder” as his best offering so far.

Manera, Mbeu’s fourth album was released on online distribution platforms last Monday.

It carries eight tracks — Chengaose, Ndabvuma, Temera featuring Jah Prayzah, Drinks on Me, featuring Glen Washington, Pfumo Richauya, I Don’t Know, Bira and the title track, Manera.

His first two albums Hatizvimirire and Hatikendenge were released in 2018, followed by the third project, The Mhodzi Diaries.

The title track Manera is a motivational track that is expected to be an anthem to everyone trying to make ends meet in life.

“I usually let people judge all the productions that I make, but Manera currently tops my list,” he said in an interview with Standard Style.

Mbeu revealed that due to Covid-19 restrictions, he and his management had to shelve Manera.

“The album was supposed to have been released last year, but we had to hold it back because we are a performing band, if we release our music, we have to follow it up on the market and perform live.

“So, with the Covid -19 conditions and the restrictions on gatherings we couldn’t release the album.

“Over the past 20 months, we just released five singles that we spaced so that we keep our fans happy.

“Now that the conditions now allow us to perform live here, we have released the album and have set up tours in and outside the country and sharing the album with everyone.”

Mbeu featured Jah Prayzah and Jamaican Glen Washington on the album.

“The choice of collaborations came from the appreciation of the two artists’ (Jah Prayzah and Glen Washington) talent,” he said.

“We have toured a lot with Jah Prayzah and it was effortless to do a track with him.

“Glen (Washington) is an international artiste I have always admired and I have been following his music since I was young.

“I love reggae music and I contacted him for collaboration and here it is and visuals will be released soon.”
