Gospel musician and cleric Takudzwa Nyatsoka has added another dimension to his ministry with the publication of his debut novel, Loud Silence – When the Shepherd Strays.
The 60-page novel was edited and published by Rodreck Thomas of Carmi Media and is now available through online bookstores.
Speaking about the inspiration behind the book, the 33-year-old author said the project was born out of a deep spiritual conviction, drawing inspiration from Jeremiah 20:9.
"I wrote the book after being inspired biblically by Jeremiah 20:9, which says: 'But His word was in my heart like a burning fire shut up in my bones; I was weary of holding it back, and I could not,'" Nyatsoka said.
"I believe there are many books and messages within my spirit, and it is time to teach, encourage and warn the world."
Loud Silence – When the Shepherd Strays follows the journey of a young pastor, Luke Tembo, who launches a ministry before getting married. As the demands of ministry, family expectations and personal pressures mount, his faith is severely tested, leaving him feeling as though God has fallen silent.
According to Nyatsoka, the title Loud Silence reflects those moments when life's challenges create the painful impression that God is absent, even as He continues to work behind the scenes.
At its core, the novel is a story of redemption, highlighting God's grace, mercy and faithfulness despite the shortcomings and struggles of believers.
