Makururu reaffirms support for CAB3

Speaking in an interview in Chipinge, Makururu said he welcomed Tungwarara’s elevation to the central committee.

Leader of Johane The Fifth of Africa International Church, Andby Makururu, yesterday attended celebrations for Zanu PF central committee member Paul Tungwarara in Chipinge.

Tungwarara was recently co-opted into the central committee by the Politburo following strong backing from Manicaland province.

Makururu joined several senior Zanu PF officials in welcoming Tungwarara at Chipinge Junior Primary School.

He gave the opening prayer to mark the beginning of the proceedings.

Zanu PF national chairperson Oppah Muchinguri attended the event as guest of honour.

Other attendees included Manicaland Minister of Provincial Affairs and Devolution Misheck Mugadza, Zanu PF Manicaland chairperson Tawanda Mukodza, and war veteran Douglas Mahiya.

Makururu, who has been mobilising religious leaders in support of Constitutional Amendment Bill No. 3, arrived with church members carrying placards endorsing the proposed changes.

He has also led marches across the country backing the Bill.

Speaking in an interview in Chipinge, Makururu said he welcomed Tungwarara’s elevation to the central committee.

“This is an important celebration because Comrade Tungwarara has stood by President Emmerson Mnangagwa and is supporting Bill No. 3. We are very happy,” he said.

“We support Bill No. 3 because we want President Mnangagwa to continue with the development he is spearheading.”
