SEVEN visual artists are in preparation to showcase their art work at a themed exhibition — Art in the Garden. They are set to exhibit their recently painted works of art in oils, water colours and acrylics on canvas, paper and mixed media.
The three-day showcase will be at 27 Ridgeway in Highlands, Harare from July 28-30.
Six of the participants are from Bulawayo — Stanley Sibanda, Ishmael Singo, Aubrey Bango, Blessing Chandinakira, Nhlanhla Magonya, and Danisile Ncube, whilst Arthur Dunkley is from Harare.
Bulawayo-based visual artist, sculptor and photographer Danisile Ncube told Standard Style that they were all exhibiting paintings in different mediums — oil paintings, watercolour and acrylics on paper and canvas.
“Our aim is to spread our wings to all clientele and also to introduce new works into the artistic scene,” Ncube said.
We invite all art lovers, buyers and enthusiasts to attend and enjoy the artistic, atmospheric atmosphere.”
Quizzed on the background behind the showcase’s title “Art in the Garden” Ncube said variety is the spice of life.
“The idea is to be in a garden with lots of fresh air and relation with nature. Imagine yourself enjoying a cuppa, wine, and snacks as this exhibition is being held in a Cafe garden setup,” he said.

“It brings in a different environment, with different artworks and good natural lighting.”
Ncube added: “Well it’s always good to exhibit works of art at any given time. This came as an opportunity to showcase our works of art and obviously has to be utilised.”
