Caps United and Mhindirira have opened negotiations with high hopes of agreeing terms ahead of the 2023 season.

CAPS United are on the verge of signing 2022 Soccer Star of the Year finalist Divine Mhindirira.

The on-demand midfielder is said to be eager to start a new life following a fruitful stint with Highlanders, where he was their best performer last season.

Caps United and Mhindirira have opened negotiations with high hopes of agreeing terms ahead of the 2023 season.

The Green Machine’s finances are said to have improved  after they endured a tough period last season.

Mhindirira has also been linked with Dynamos as he is yet to report for duty at Highlanders.

He was also linked with newboys Simba Bhora, who are also on a signing spree.

The Lloyd Chitembwe-coached Caps United have been playing cards close to their chests in their transfer business.

Chitembwe is not going for unheralded players as he has so far signed six seasoned campaigners.

Their biggest catch has been midfield workhorse Kelvin Mandzongwe, who was unveiled earlier this week after parting ways with Bulawayo Chiefs.

They also signed set-piece specialist Adrian Silla along with former Ngezi Platinum and Dynamos defender Godknows Murwira.

Midfielder Innocent Zambezi and defender Admiral Matope, formerly with Harare City and WhaWha, respectively, complete their new signings so far.

Meanwhile, last season’s top goalscorer William Manondo is likely to stay put at Caps United.

Reports indicate that offers from Zambian Super League clubs have failed to entice Manondo and his management.

Caps also fended off Manica Diamond’s interest in Devon Chafa.

Caps United had a tough campaign last term, but are looking to build a strong team to challenge for honours.
