Man ordered to stop stalking ex-wife

News
A HARARE woman has accused her ex-husband of stalking and physically assaulting her after she moved on out of jealousy.

A Harare woman has accused her ex-husband of stalking and physically assaulting her after she moved on out of jealousy.

Kelly Mufambi told the court that Steven Chikwiramatara regularly beats her in public whenever he sees her with her new boyfriend.

“He told me he will make my life miserable, even for my children, until I do what he wants,” Mufambi testified.

She added that Chikwiramatara frequently shows up at her workplace with the intention to embarrass her.

Mufambi said her ex-husband has forbidden her from dating or having any sexual relationships until he dies.

“At times, he calls me just to insult me and demand to sleep with me,” she told the court.

Chikwiramatara denied the accusations, saying Mufambi was the one causing violence.

Chikwiramatara said he was still in love with her when she divorced him.

He acknowledged having thoughts of suicide at the time of the divorce, but denied threatening her and the children.

The court concluded that there was no peace between the two parties and ruled in favour of Mufambi.
