High Court orders arrest for Mzansi artistes

THE High Court in Bulawayo has ordered the arrest of top South African disc jockeys Kabza De Small and DJ Maphorisa for reporterdly swindling and refusal to refund Victoria Falls Carnival promoters.

Born Petrus Kabelo Motha, Kabza De Small and DJ Maphorisa real name Themba Sonnyboy Sekowe failed to turn up for a scheduled performance at Victoria Falls Carnival held at Elephant Hills Hotel in April amid reports that they were fully paid.

The applicants in the matter, Victoria Falls Carnival Private Limited are demanding more than US$18 000.

Bulawayo judge Justice Christopher Dube-Banda granted a writ of personal execution against the South Africans.

The judge ordered that the duo be arrested and committed to prison.

“Now, therefore, you are required and directed that you take Petrus Kabelo Motha and Themba Sonnyboy Sekowe of which they are found in Zimbabwe and deliver them to the keeper of the goal at Bulawayo prison, together with a copy of the Writ.

“There to be safely actively kept until they are served with summons against them issued by the High Court in Bulawayo for a claim of US$18 395.82 to the Sheriff of the High Court in Bulawayo whichever occurs first,” Justice Dube-Banda ruled.

Reports indicate that some lawyers were scrambling to avert the arrest of Kabza De Small and DJ Maphorisa.
