AFROCENTRIC Events hosted the first ever Schools Expo at the Glen Community Park, which saw a number of schools and corporates from Harare’s southern suburbs exhibit at the event.

About 30 schools, including Nattie Group of Schools, Impactus Group of Schools, Southern Cross Primary School, and St. Ruth Academy, among other schools, turned up for the event.

The event was also followed by a drugs and substance abuse workshop led by Mubatirapamwe Rehabilitation Center and general career guidance for students who attended.

In an interview with the organiser Kudzai Mukuku he said the event comes at a time parents are looking for school places for their children.

“We organised this event so that we can give exposure to schools around the area as parents of Form one’s, Grade One's, and ECD’s of next year need to scout schools for their children ahead of 2025,” he said.

Muku added that this event, which is the first of its kind in the southern suburbs of Harare, will be an annual event.

“We chose this venue because it has a big catchment area connecting Glen Norah, Highfield, Glen View, and Budiriro suburbs.”

Afrocentric Events will this weekend (Friday 29 to Saturday 30 November) host another Schools Expo at Long Cheng Plaza, which will host schools from areas around Harare.
