Daniel Molokele

Hwange Central MP Daniel Molokele has been elected to the international Executive Committee of Parliamentarians for Global Action (PGA), marking a significant global leadership appointment.

His election was confirmed at the organisation’s annual general meeting held at the close of its 46th annual conference in Mexico City on Friday, March 27, 2026. His term runs from April 1, 2026, to December 2027.

Founded in 1978 in Washington, D.C., and headquartered in New York, PGA is a multi-party global network of legislators advancing human rights, democracy, the rule of law, peace and security, gender equality, environmental protection, and justice.

The network comprises nearly 1,000 active parliamentarians from over 150 countries, working individually to drive legislative action both domestically and internationally.

Its Executive Committee—drawn from diverse political, geographic, and social backgrounds—meets twice annually and provides strategic direction to the organisation and its Secretariat, led by a Secretary-General.

Molokele’s election adds to his growing international profile. In December 2025, he was appointed to the global board of UNITE Parliamentary Network for Global Health (UNITE), where he serves as focal point for Southern and Eastern Africa, representing legislators from more than 25 countries.

“,” said Molokele in an interview. “I serve as the focal point person for Southern and Eastern Africa, representing parliamentarians in over 25 African countries.”

UNITE, established in 2017 and headquartered in Lisbon, Portugal, is a non-partisan network of nearly 600 current and former parliamentarians from more than 120 countries. It promotes sustainable, effective policies to strengthen global health systems in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
