AURUM Aesthetic & Cosmetic Surgery has once again stamped its authority as a leader in Zimbabwe’s beauty and health sector after securing another honour, the hall of fame at the Zim Trailblazers, while its founder and director Pamela Munemo was separately recognised as Outstanding Beauty and Health Practitioner.
The double accolade not only celebrates individual excellence, but also highlights AURUM’s sustained impact on an industry that continues to evolve in complexity, regulation and public interest.
Since its establishment in 2018, the centre has steadily built a reputation anchored on professionalism, patient safety and innovation — values that have now earned repeated national recognition.
In a groundbreaking move for Zimbabwe, AURUM has introduced tumescent (awake) liposuction, one of the safest and most advanced body-contouring procedures used internationally.
Unlike conventional liposuction, the technique is performed while the patient remains awake, dramatically reducing surgical risks, recovery time and post-procedure downtime.
The procedure has already drawn significant public attention following its successful uptake by popular media personality Yaya Goodvibes, who reportedly resumed mobility within three days — an outcome that has boosted confidence in the procedure and highlighted its benefits.
A medical expert and a partner at AURUM Aesthetic & Cosmetic Surgery Johannes Marisa noted that tumescent liposuction delivers results comparable to traditional methods while offering enhanced safety and faster recovery, positioning AURUM at the forefront of modern cosmetic practice in the country.
Riding on its growing footprint, AURUM Aesthetic & Cosmetic Surgery is preparing for a major expansion.

In 2026, the centre will relocate to 617 Swan Crescent, The Grange, a move that will see it operating from a larger, more advanced facility.
“The expansion is expected to enhance clinical capacity, improve patient experience and allow for the introduction of additional services, further strengthening AURUM’s standing as a centre of excellence in aesthetic medicine,” said Munemo.
For her, the recognition goes beyond trophies and applause.
“I remain deeply committed to shaping the future of aesthetic and cosmetic medicine in Zimbabwe through research, engagement with medical regulators and advocacy for ethical, well-regulated practice,” said Munemo.
She said her vision was to see Zimbabwe emerge as a regional leader in safe and ethical aesthetic medicine, where innovation is balanced with robust safety standards and professional accountability.
With another national honour secured, cutting-edge procedures now available locally, and ambitious expansion plans on the horizon, AURUM Aesthetic & Cosmetic Surgery — under Munemo and Marisa’s leadership — continues to redefine standards and shape the future of beauty and health in Zimbabwe.
