A 38-YEAR-OLD Shamva man, who raped his 13-year-old niece, has been sentenced to 15 years behind bars by a Bindura magistrate.
Prosecutor Ngoni Kaseke said sometime in February the man was left with the girl at his homestead and proposed love to her.
She turned him down and went to sweep in her bedroom but her uncle followed and raped her.
The girl cried for help but no one came to her rescue.
She narrated her ordeal to her aunt the following day and a police report was made leading to his arrest.
Regional magistrate Estere Chivasa presided.
