Mviyo Tech aims to deliver local solutions to local problems

Led by Jacqueline Ntaka, a passionate tech entrepreneur, Mviyo Technologies offers a diverse range of products and services, including ticketing systems, geo-location tracking for animals and workers, and agro-care solutions.

MVIYO Technologies, a new tech company dedicated to providing innovative and cost-effective solutions for local businesses and communities, held its official launch in the capital city on Thursday.

The Harare launch followed the company's debut in Bulawayo a week earlier at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF).

Led by Jacqueline Ntaka, a passionate tech entrepreneur, Mviyo Technologies offers a diverse range of products and services, including ticketing systems, geo-location tracking for animals and workers, and agro-care solutions.

Drawing inspiration from the resilient and adaptable umviyo fruit (Nzvirimombe in shona), Ntaka explained that the company's name embodies its essence — an entity capable of weathering any storm, adapting, and innovating to deliver solutions tailored to the unique needs of the Zimbabwean context.

"Mviyo Technologies has ignited a spark that will undoubtedly illuminate the path towards Zimbabwe's transformation into a thriving tech hub, rivalling the Silicon Valley of our times," Ntaka said.

"Our unwavering belief in the transformative power of technology has paved the way for Mviyo Technologies, an enterprise poised to revolutionise the way we conduct business, safeguard our livestock, optimise agricultural practices, and empower our communities."

Ntaka emphasized that the company's vision extended beyond providing cutting-edge technological solutions. It envisions fostering an inclusive and diverse tech ecosystem that empowers women and girls to become not just consumers but creators of technology.

"We envision a world where technology serves as a catalyst for economic growth, bridging the gap between innovation and the communities it serves," she added.

Mviyo Technologies' innovative products, such as Zim Ticketing, geo-location tracking for animals and workers, and Ago-time, demonstrate the company's commitment to addressing local challenges with homegrown solutions.

"Our mission is not merely to provide cutting-edge technological solutions; it is to transform Zimbabwe into the Silicon Valley of Africa," Ntaka declared. "We envision a future where our nation stands at the forefront of technological advancement, where innovation thrives, and where our youth are empowered to become the creators of tomorrow's technology."

To achieve this ambitious goal, Mviyo Technologies is seeking like-minded tech enthusiasts who share their passion for innovation and their unwavering belief in the transformative power of technology.

"If you are a tech whiz with lofty ambitions, we invite you to join us on this journey to transform Zimbabwe's technological landscape," Ntaka asserted.

Mandla Nkiwane, Mviyo Technologies' Chief Information Technology Officer, emphasized the company's commitment to developing local talent.

"We already employ some of the finest tech engineers in the country and we offer scholarships to promising students because for Mviyo it's not about profits, it's about birthing a Zimbabwe-driven by technology. It's about using technology to beat poverty. It's about using technology to develop our economy. It's about putting Zimbabwe at the apex," Nkiwane stated.

With its innovative solutions, unwavering commitment to local talent development, and ambitious vision for Zimbabwe's technological transformation, Mviyo Technologies is poised to play a significant role in shaping the country's future.
