A lesson from Helen Zille in South Africa!

WHEN I left Zimbabwe, I took a break at the Holiday Inn, in Johannesburg.

On informing the desk manager that I wanted to find a pharmacy, he  provided me with an escort for my safety.

Take a moment to digest. This is the greatest city south of Cairo, the richest city in Africa, the city of gold.

Sometime in 1880, European prospectors witnessed Bantu children using shiny stones for a game called stones in a hole (nhada).

The story is that since 1994, when the brothers (blacks) took over the city, they “stole all the money” (an exaggeration), siphoning huge amounts from necessary tasks, water, safety and electricity into their black pockets.

The ANC (a power-sharing party in South Africa) “is made up of crooks” (an exaggeration), argued Democratic Alliance (DA) chairperson, Helen Zille.

As we speak, we are watching in the USA, a public meeting called by Zille in Bruma Township.

Zille is brilliant, and unlike many whites, she learned to speak Xhosa without a European accent.

Having spent some time in Singapore and Hong Kong, she came to the view that colonialism is not to blame for Africa’s backwardness.

The Bantu need to take responsibility for their own failure to adopt modernity and accountability.

She says plainly to the Bruma residents, who have spent 40 years without running water, that the ANC stole the money set aside in the 2023 Water Strategy Turnaround.

She is sitting on a sealed borehole. The City Fathers (the brothers) started drilling a borehole, then “stole the money” and the borehole was never finished.

When Zille visits Douglasdale, where potholes are so large that when it rains, children can swim (may be an exaggeration).

Zille will not let this go away. She is credited with a “swim party” to illustrate the fact that road taxes, tolls, licensing fees: “Labantu batshontsha imali (they are stealing your money).”

The issue of electricity is perhaps at the centre of development. The accusation, heard in various commissions, is that the corrupt brothers (City Fathers and Government) give a contract to a brother Chigananda.

This Chigananda has spies within the system and they break bulbs and transformers deliberately.

According to the corrupt contracts.

ESKOM has been driven to extremities to the point of collapse by these brethren Zvigandandas.

The contracted Chigananda is virtually on a 24-hour call, charges overtime for small breakages which could have been fixed internally.

Zille faced similar problems in Cape Town, where she was able to overthrow the brothers from the City Council.

In 2006, after kicking out all the Zvigananda connected with crony contractors, Cape Town was voted the best city in southern Africa.

Please do not miss the point. It is assumed that all brother contactors hired by ANC council members were “relatives, cronies and bastards”.

Potholes vanished and garbage was collected every day.

Zille does not use racist language as she speaks Xhosa with the best of them.

She is now running for the position of mayor of Johannesburg, a position held by a brother, Dada Morero.

If the reader has been following the argument, we must assume that brothers (blacks) are corrupt.

Forget about voting for blacks. The choice is simple. Douglasdale has potholes used by kids as swimming pools.

Bruma has not had water since the revolutionary brothers took over in 1994.

The funds allocated by the national government in 2023 for water restoration have been stolen.

Throw the “bustards out” (sorry for the bad word).

When you consider the anti-black immigration protests, one realises that a foundation for the return of a white government is being laid.

As we speak, a report of inquiry into the financial affairs of the Free State has been released.

In the last five years, the premier’s office allocated 379 000 rand in scholarships to relatives, illegal migrants and some deceased persons (June 2, 2026).

As we write, polling experts in South Africa are saying that while the ANC (the stealing party) has 30% support among stalwart and principled brothers, Zille’s message is getting through.

The DA is slowly rising and is now in a competitive position at 30%, at par with the ANC.

Tagwirei’s wedding.

I have nothing, but a kind word for Kuda Tagwirei. I have never met the man.

Many years ago, when petrol was scarce, he left a US$50 voucher in my name and a kind word.

He wrote on a greeting card, thus: “Ken, I will miss your coming home. Continue to do what you do. Use this voucher wherever you see Sakunda Petrol.”

Those attending the wedding forgot that in the season and the times in which we live, the authorities do not have the last word in the world of propaganda.

The role of a Bishop blessing the wedding was not given a prominent place — the very reason why they were there

Yu-Tubers, and X-handlers and videographers are outside censorship circles.

A brother informer sent me a message, complete with a video (unauthorised) claiming that he had been refused admission and that his US$50 donation was scoffed at the gate.

Further, the mayor of Harare and his wise men attended. In the Justice Mafios Cheda report (June 2025), so many revelations of crony contracting and simple failure to honour contracts were revealed.

In one case, the town clerk is said to have given a contract of US$9,7 million for street lighting without council approval.

In another case, the position of assistant to the town clerk did not exist, yet a brother was paid US$12 000 per month.

In yet another report, the mayor (outside the Cheda report) complains that an officer of the council had extended his contract without council approval.

These brothers and sisters show-cased themselves at the wedding. The world is laughing at us.

Methinks this is the Lazarus complex-read your Bible.
