IT is like Namatai Kwekweza was born to win, excel and conquer as she continues to soar, driven by her confidence and intelligence.
Kwekweza has proved her mettle in public speaking as she came first in the recent Southern Africa Toastmasters International, a public-speaking competition.
She outwitted other competitors drawn from 11 countries to be crowned the champion in Impromptu Speeches (Table Topics) Southern Africa 2023 Toastmasters International.
For Kwekweza, winning a first place in public speaking is not something new as she has been a victor in several competitions in Zimbabwe.
The 24-year-old who took to social media to celebrate her win, said she was elated by her recent victory.
“… Toastmasters, my home, my heartbeat,” Kwekweza posted on her social media platform.
“I closed off my speech with the famous words of Princess Diana, I would rather be a queen of people’s hearts! That is how I would like to be remembered. Cheers to more victories and public speaking wins.”

Many among them Comedienne Samantha “Gonyeti” Kureya of Bus Stop TV joined hands to congratulate Kwekweza for her victory.
“Congratulations to you Namatai Kwekweza, the most fluent public speaker of our generation, forbringing another trophy home. Thanks for flying our flag high #unbridled,” Lennox Gondo said.
Kwekweza is one of the outspoken young women in the country who advocates for the rights of women and all people.
She is a feminist, Pan Africanist and an activist who has the courage to challenge the government on the issue of constitutionalism.
She also encourages the youths to be conversant with the Constitution.
