ORGANISERS of South African music star Makhadzi’s Saturday show at the Odyssey in Kadoma have unveiled local artistes set to share the stage with the Mzansi songbird.

The multi-award-winning Mzansi singer born Ndivhunzannyi Ralivhona will be staging her maiden performance in the mining town of Kadoma, courtesy of 2 Kings Entertainment.

Before the announcement of the latest list of musicians, only Jah Prayzah who happened to have a collaboration (Makokovha) with Makhadzi, was confirmed as the supporting act.

In the latest development, urban groover EXQ, songstress Marceline “Marcy” Janyure, dendera musician-cum-preacher Charles Pintec and wheelspinner DJ Lroy have been added to performers at the potentially explosive show dubbed Makhadzi & Jah Prayzah Live in Kadoma.

“I feel honoured, it is every artiste's dream to perform among legends like Makhadzi. It really inspired me to keep on working hard as my work is now being noticed. Honestly, I am overwhelmed and I really appreciate the opportunity to be performing at Makhadzi's show,” Marcy told NewsDay Life & Style yesterday.

One of the concert co-ordinators Dee Nosh said preparations for the show were at an advanced stage.

“Everything for the Makhadzi & Jah Prayzah Live in Kadoma concert is going according to script. We can confirm that EXQ, Marcy, Charles Pintec and DJ Lroy will share the stage with Makhadzi who touches down at Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport on Saturday morning ahead of her evening performance,” Dee Nosh noted.

Tickets for the show went on sale last week and music lovers who wish to attend the concert will have to part with US$15 and US$30 for the standard and VIP tickets, respectively.

“We are happy with the uptake of the show’s advance tickets that we decided to release on time to ease pressure on fans. So far, we have sold about 70% of advance tickets that are in different packages and available at Odyssey Lodge in Kadoma, selected Booties pharmacies and Coloursel Furniture shops,” he said.

“There is a limited number of golden tickets for the show that come with two VIP tickets plus accommodation for two at US$150. It has to be clear that the availability and where one wishes to stay will be determined on a first-come first-served basis.”

The Makhadzi mania gripped the local showbiz scene about a fortnight ago following her confirmation that she would be performing live on October 22 in Kadoma, Zimbabwe.

In a video clip posted on various digital platforms, Makhadzi said she was excited to be coming to Zimbabwe and perform for her fans.

“Hello everyone, this is Makhadzi, please catch me live at Kadoma, Odyssey Hotel in Zimbabwe, October 22, I am coming,” she said.

Dee Nosh said they remained committed to delivering the best entertainment experience to their customers and were optimistic of a huge turnout at the concert.

“We continuously look for ways to entertain music fans by constantly offering them more choices of great value from artistes across genres on one stage. Makhadzi has an understanding of the local market and commands a huge following in the country, with many popular sing-along songs, so merrymakers should expect a night of good music,” he said.
