The Direct Worship choral group frontman, who doubles as a pastor at United Family International Church, has continued to widen his fan base with past projects earning him recognition nationwide and regionally.

In an interview with The Standard Style, Minister Mahendere described the song, which he co-produced with Nigel Nyangombe, as “a positive declaration” for the listener.

“We are just trying to build a relationship with the Nigerian musician so we can ride on each other’s influences,” said Mahendere, describing the song as an effort to break down borders between artistes of different nationalities.

“I respect Psalmist Jimmy D’s ministry and he also respects mine, so it was easy to work together. the song is a positive declaration and an encouragement to those that will get to listen to it.”

On how he settled to collaborate with the West African star, Mahendere said it was a natural connection.

“I met with him last year in Tanzania. Hearing his kind of music, we clicked and did not have a problem understanding each other so we became friends and agreed to do a song,” he said.

Meanwhile, the multi-talented piece of the once-famed fraternal ensemble Mahendere Brothers is ready to finish the year in style with a live album recording of a 10-track project titled Classical Worship next month.

“We are preparing to do the Classical Worship live album recording and hopefully it will be next month. The project contains a song I am featured on by Welcome Nhariswa titled Ndiye Mwari, which many people are looking forward to, so they should be ready for it,” he said.
