ZIMCN, KGK and Group chairman get top accolades

ZIMCN Investments Group chairman Collins Takunda Mnangagwa who got a super platinum award Technology, Innovation and Next Generation Leadership was named among the top ten exceptional business leaders in Zimbabwe for his exploits in mining, energy and logistics while ZIMCN Investments bagged Platinum award Exceptional Mining Award and KGK winning the Gold Award Outstanding Drilling and Exploration services.  

Diversified group ZIMCN Investments incorporating the KGK brand and boasting of interests in mining, energy and logistics among others was the toast of the night at the Zimbabwe CEO’s Network Best in Zimbabwe awards held in Harare where they got three top accolades for exceptional business acumen, innovation and leadership.  

ZIMCN Investments Group chairman Collins Takunda Mnangagwa who got a super platinum award Technology, Innovation and Next Generation Leadership was named among the top ten exceptional business leaders in Zimbabwe for his exploits in mining, energy and logistics while ZIMCN Investments bagged Platinum award Exceptional Mining Award and KGK winning the Gold Award Outstanding Drilling and Exploration services.  

Speaking on the sidelines of the fully subscribed awards dinner, the company’s managing director Memory Gideon who was supported by KGK general manager Martin Kutyauripo and logistics manager Tichaona Chitunya thanked the Zimbabwe CEO’s Network for the honour and pledged the company’s unwavering commitment to community and national development through its projects.  

“We are humbled by this recognition and on behalf of our chairman Engineer Collins Takunda Mnangagwa we want to thank the Zimbabwe CEO’s Network for recognising our consistent efforts in contributing to the growth of the local economy through our various business lines,” she said.  

“These accolades reflect not only excellence in corporate leadership but a sustained contribution to national development, innovation, and community upliftment as Zimbabwe advances towards an empowered upper-middle economy by 2030.” 

Gideon said the group has continued to disrupt and innovate towards maximum capacity utilisation which has aided excellence and productivity in their work. 

“Our group chairman is a shrewd business leader who is very big on professionalism, delivery and attention to detail and such attributes coupled by a highly motivated and hardworking team have seen us achieving our annual targets and we are proud to end the year on a high.  

Both ZIMCN Investments and KGK have demonstrated thought leadership and unassailable business acumen through dynamism, reinvention and sustainable operations that add value to the broader economy and we want to continue excelling in that regard,” she said.  

Gideon also told The Standard Style that ZIMCN Investments and Mnangagwa have over the years received numerous awards from different awards boards, underscoring the company’s commitment to excellence and community impact.  

“ZIMCN Investments received the prestigious Mining Project of the Year award from the Chartered Institute of Project Managers Zimbabwe (ICPMZ) in December 2022, highlighting the company's significant contributions to the mining sector. Additionally, it was honored with the Mining Sector Supply Chain Excellence Award from the Institute of Supply Chain Management Zimbabwe (ISCPMZ) and our Chairman recognized the same year as the Board Chairperson of the Year (Non-Listed Companies) by the Institute of Corporate Directors Zimbabwe (ICDZ). In the same year, the accolades continued with the Young Corporate Director of the Year award for Engineer Collins, also from ICDZ, showcasing leadership excellence. 

Further cementing our pedigree, ZIMCN Investments earned the Outstanding Gold Producer Award in the Mining and Mineral Resources Category at the Mashonaland East Investment Awards in 2024, while also being recognized as the First Runner Up for the Community Impact Award in recognition of our corporate social responsibility programmes in the province and across Zimbabwe. The company’s Chairman was also listed among the Top 5 Super Platinum Young CEOs by the Zimbabwe CEO’s Network in October 2024,” she said.  

Some of the top winners at the Zimbabwe CEO’s Network Friday night Grand Finale awards ceremony included Econet Wireless, Grain Marketing Board (GMB), Doves, Nash Furnishers, Traverze, Research Council of Zimbabwe, Alistar Food Industries, Chicken Slice to name a few and the awards board’s executive director Tafadzwa Matsika commented all the winning brands for their sterling contributions to national development.
