Charles Dube trains new visual artists

BULAWAYO visual artist Charles Dube says he is keen to train up-and-coming artists, who have been idle due to lack of support and skills.

Dube believes idle talent must not be left to die without realising its full potential.

“I discovered that a lot of art talent is lying idle and it’s being wasted away and after seeing all this, I felt let me embark on a programme on training the young and upcoming visual artists," he said.

“My aim is to train them up to the level of Mass Display BackGround Art. So all talented age groups are welcome, able bodied, disabled, every gender, secondary school going; everyone is welcome."

The syllabus for Dube’s training incorporates  — Fine Arts; 1) Theory notes & rough sketch.(2) scale & centrality (3) sign writing pencil work.(4) portraits pencil work & painting for both.(5) colour mixing  Designing from scratch.

“(6) creations and paintings of pictorial & abstract Art.(7) screen printing. Research & data collection.(8)Mass display Art, final Assessment & Examination.

In addition, Dube said “Five years ago I made the same call but it was especially for the disabled andthere was no response. I am also appealing to well-wishers to assist me to get a suitable venue preferably in town for this wonderful dream.”
