Hundreds of people converged at the Celebration Centre in Borrowdale, Harare, on Saturday for the Love Run, an event organised by Love4Life, a couples' ministry under Celebration Church International.
The event aimed to promote health and wellness among couples, singles, and children, while fostering a sense of community and connection.
Participants took part in a 5km run/walk, 10km run, and a half marathon (21km), focusing on personal achievement rather than competition.
Speaking to The Sports Hub, Munyaradzi Chinyemba, head of Love4Life, said the Love Run was born from a desire to create an environment where couples can pursue health and wellness together.
"The Love Run was born from a desire to create an environment where couples can pursue health and wellness together," Chinyemba said.
In addition Chinyemba said that many couples face health challenges later in life due to lack of early fitness routines.
"We've observed many couples who never established early fitness routines, and as a result, they've faced significant health challenges later in life," he said.
The event attracted over 200 participants, a significant increase from the 100 participants when it started three years ago.

Chinyemba emphasised the importance of physical health on top of relying on spiritual guidance.
"Our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, and we have a responsibility to care for them with intentionality and reverence," he added.
Chinyemba also highlighted the ministry's growth, and is optimistic this will multiply in the coming years.
"This is our third year hosting the Love Run, and as a ministry still growing in this space, we are learning and evolving with each edition," he stated.
Love4Life also hosts monthly Zoom sessions for couples, imparting truth, wisdom, and encouragement.
The ministry believes strong families are built on the foundation of healthy marriages and aims to positively influence the community, one couple, one family at a time.
"The Love Run is part of our efforts to steward and maintain the physical bodies that God has entrusted to us," Chinyemba said.
The event was a fun and engaging way to promote health and wellness, with participants enjoying the scenic route and bonding over shared experiences, and Love4Life plans to continue hosting the Love Run and other events to support couples and families in Zimbabwe.
