HIGHLANDERS' have strengthened their squad for the second half of the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League season after completing the signings of Brighton Makopa, Liam Mabidi and Emmanuel Saidi during the recently closed mid-season transfer window.
The headline acquisition is Makopa, who returns to the club where he came through the junior ranks before establishing himself in the Premier Soccer League with Hwange and later Chicken Inn.
Highlanders believe the experienced player's return will bolster a side pushing to maintain its resurgence under coach Benjani Mwaruwari.
Makopa is joined by promising midfielder Liam Mabidi, who arrives from Beitbridge-based Dulibadzimu United. Mabidi also spent part of his development at South African side TS Galaxy, experience Highlanders hope will help him settle quickly into top-flight football.
The Bulawayo giants have also secured Emmanuel Saidi on loan from Scottland until the end of the season, giving Mwaruwari another option as Bosso prepare for a demanding second half of the campaign.
In announcing the signings yesterday, Highlanders said the trio would increase competition for places and provide the technical team with greater squad depth.

"The Club believes the three additions will provide valuable competition within the squad while giving the technical team additional options as we pursue our objectives for the remainder of the season," Highlanders said in a statement.
The arrivals come after Highlanders parted ways with midfielder Shepherd Mhlanga and striker Brighton Ncube as Mwaruwari reshapes his squad.
The Bulawayo giants also brought in Mwaruwari's son, Benjani Jnr. during the transfer window as part of their rebuilding exercise, with the latest additions underlining the club's determination to finish the season strongly.
Previously, Benjani Jnr. was at Yeovil Town, in England before joining his father at the Bulawayo giants.
