Mwaruwari arrived in the Mother City last weekend, where he trained with Ajax Cape Town. However, he has subsequently joined their cross-city rivals.

The former Manchester City striker joins a number of players that have recently joined the Chilli Boys, including the likes of former Free State Stars defender, Rudiger Gilbert, Mbulelo Mabizela, Masibusane Zongo and Stanton Lewis. Chippa are currently being coached by former Warriors striker Wilfred Mugeyi, who crossed the floor from Ajax Cape Town where he was assistant coach at the Urban Warriors.

Chippa’s public relations officer, Lukanyo Mzinzi, confirmed that the former Warriors captain has been signed to boost the team’s attacking options for the remainder of the season.

“He has signed for the remainder of the season with an option for another year. We were in discussions with him for almost the whole day yesterday (Tuesday),” said Mzinzi.
