CASTLE Lager Premier Soccer League side Buffaloes chairman Hlanganiso Matangaidze says they will engage Mutare City Council this week over the slow pace of the renovations at Sakubva Stadium ahead of the new season slated to start next week.

The stadium was condemned by Premier Soccer League (PSL) almost three weeks ago and has been temporarily closed to pave way for renovations.
But Matangaidze is not impressed with the pace.
“We are going to engage Mutare City Council on why they are conducting the renovations at a slow pace. l hope they are going to meet our deadline. Buffaloes is only meant to entertain football fans in Mutare so there is no need to use another ground,” he said.
Buffaloes mentor Luke Masomere said his side’s preparations have been put in disarray as they are not able to use the facility in preparation for the new season.

Some of the issues that are set to be addressed include the dilapidated toilets and changing rooms that need to be refurbished, the need to erect new goalposts with required aluminium, having an anti-doping room, attending to the bumpy turf, and the renovation of the security wall in some sections of the ground.
