CASTLE Lager Premier Soccer League side Dongo Sawmills has appointed Partson Ndabambi as head coach.

Ndabambi will replace Shardreck Mugarasave who is set to be the club’s assistant coach.

Club owner Francis Dongo confirmed the developments to Newsday Sport yesterday.

“Yes, we have appointed Partson Ndabambi head coach and he will work with Mugurasave. We have finalised all the nitty-gritties of his contract including his salary. The coach has to deliver because he has promised us at least 12 points in four matches. If he fails, then he would have to pack his bags and go,” he said.

Dongo added: “Mugurasave will stay since he is the founder and he knows a lot of things regarding this club. He has just not been lucky to win matches of late.”

As the club owner, Dongo is not happy with the position his team is occupying on the league table.

“I believe our position on the log standings is not good at all and there is now need to pull up our socks and I am doing it for the interest of our fans who were saying that we should do something to get results,” he said. Ndabambi’s first hurdle will be against fellow newcomers Flame Lily at Lafarge this Sunday.

Dongo Sawmills are yet to taste victory in their debut season as they have collected just four points from 11 matches, anchoring the 16-team log table.

They had started the season on a high note, after they held FC Platinum at Mandava in Zvishavane in the first week of the campaign before doing the same against the then Saul Chaminuka-coached power utility side, ZPC Kariba.

In their last league match, Dongo were beaten 2-0 by visiting Caps United in their own backyard.
