HARARE, Jul 10 (NewsDay Live) -The Zimbabwe Congress of Trade Unions (ZCTU) has suspended its secretary-general Tirivanhu Marimo over allegations of misconduct.

The union's president Florence Taruvinga announced Marimo's suspension in a statement this Friday, adding that Kudakwashe Munengiwa would be acting secretary-general until further notice.

"ZCTU would like to notify all affiliates, stakeholders and cooperating partners of the suspension of the ZCTU secretary-general Tirivanhu Marimo over acts of misconduct. Marimo is suspended and relieved of all official duties on behalf of ZCTU," read the statement.

Marimo was elected ZCTU secretary-general in 2025 taking over from Japhet Moyo.
