BULAWAYO is set to come alive with colour, creativity, and couture as the second edition of the Bulawayo Fashion Show takes centre stage on December 13, midday to 8pm in Burnside.

The highly anticipated event promises to be a celebration of fashion freedom, inclusion and bold expression under this year’s compelling theme Diversity through Threads.

In the body of the show is Kotaire, the host brand behind the event.

Thando Ngwenya, the founder of both Kotaire and Bulawayo Fashion Show, said the show is more than just a runway; it’s a movement for representation and access.

“We are back by popular demand, the first show was in December 2023, and the response was overwhelming,” he said.

“This second edition is about giving space to both upcoming and established designers, especially those who don’t always get opportunities in tight-knit fashion circles.”

Ngwenya said the goal of the event is to tell stories through fashion while breaking down traditional

barriers.

“Diversity through Threads means every stitch, every fabric tells a story. We want people to experience what these brands stand for, not just see clothes, but feel purpose behind the designs,” he said.

He added that the show will feature a mix of runway showcases and fashion stalls, allowing guests not only to view, but also purchase directly from the designers.

While the focus is on Bulawayo creatives, designers from other provinces will also be participating.

“The line-up includes some of the most exciting rising names in Zimbabwean fashion such as Stolen Pieces, All Smiles, Fake Friends Apparel, Black Apes,SKUCCI World, Designer Jay, Leroy Sam Mapungwana, Everything MW, Juluka, Richard Jeans, FXF Culture, and Believe Apparel,”Ngwenya added.

“These are creatives who are redefining fashion on their own terms.”

He said each of them has a unique voice, and the Bulawayo Fashion Show is the microphone.

“With a vibe that blends style and storytelling, the event promises an unforgettable day of art-in-motion, designers will not only exhibit their work but also engage directly with the audience, sharing the inspiration behind their brands.

“This is not about exclusivity, it is about expression. We accept everyone and anyone. If you’re passionate about fashion, this platform is for you.”

Tickets will be available at the gate, and fashion lovers from all over the city and beyond are encouraged to come and experience the bold, beautiful diversity that Zimbabwean fashion has to offer.
