PROMISING contemporary gospel artiste Thandeka Tinoedza Chiriro (24) yesterday launched her professional musical journey with the release of her debut song titled You Will Never Fail ahead of an album compilation.

The song, produced by veteran Macdonald “Macdee” Chidavaenzi at Eternity Productions in Harare, is accompanied by a studio session video.

The songstress, in a statement, said the track was an appetiser and heart-warming song that declares God as a source of refuge and comforter who never fails.

“I am happy to launch my professional career with the song You Will Never Fail that builds a bridge between contemporary music as we know it and our own Zimbabwean sound, therefore, making it appeal to a wider and more diverse audience,” she said.

“After the release of this single, I am now working on an eight-track album.

“I am also creating live versions of my new unrecorded songs.”

Chiriro, a member of Hope of Glory Ministries International Church, said she started singing and showing her love for music at the age of three, but only started singing in church at 17.

“I find my greatest inspiration from God and nonetheless get influence from other local artistes like Fungisai Zvakavapano-Mashavave, Hannah Mapepeta, the late Oliver Mtukudzi and also international musicians like Ada Ehi from Nigeria, Erica and Tina Campbell, Kierra Sheard from the United States of America, among many,” she said.
