BY STYLE CORRESPONDENT Victoria Falls businessman, arts promoter and philanthropist Paul Shambare, affectionately known as Elder Shambare, has been nominated for the International Prestigious Awards organised by the Africa Dubai Business Awards.
The awards will be held in Dubai at the end of August.
Shambare is poised to be crowned with an Africa Business Leadership and Entrepreneurship Excellence Award in Freight Shipping, Clearing Logistics under SADC, Africa banner while his company Express Cargo has been nominated for the Africa Award for Freight and Shipping Services and Developmental Leadership and Entity Excellence of the Year.
Africa Dubai Business Awards is a celebratory ceremony for African businesses, organisations and individuals that takes place annually in Dubai. It is one of the flagship events in Africa, recognising and rewarding excellence in all sectors.
The awards ceremony is held concurrently with the business summit that incorporates business giants of Africa and Dubai.
The events will be held under the theme The Africa We Want.
Shambare is the MD of Express Cargo, a local company that deals with transport and customs clearing logistics.
The company has branches at all the country’s points of entry.

He is into philanthropy work, which has seen him assisting several underprivileged groups and individuals, especially at the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic.
He described his nomination at theCovid-19 pandemic.s a milestone.
“It shows that we have been doing well and the market has responded well,” Shambare.
“We are grateful to these great honours which have put us on the global map.
“We are proud to have been nominated as one of the best in our country and continent.
“It shows that we are doing wonders in our line of business despite the Covid implications to business and the difficulty of doing business.”
Shambare has received several accolades from local and international institutions.
In 2020 and 2021, he was conferred with three honourary doctorates from different institutions for his immense contribution to business, humanity and society.
The businessman-cum arts promoter was conferred with Doctorates from the International Institute of Philanthropy, International Women’s University and the Maverick University.
The three accolades were in recognition of his philanthropy work.
Locally, he has also received several wards.
“That shows we are doing well and our market is happy and as a frieght company we will thrive to give the best,” Shambare said.
