FORMER Caps United midfielder Anderson Phiri has died.

Phiri passed on at a Harare hospital on Sunday after losing a long battle with TB.
He leaves behind a wife and two daughters.

Phiri, who joined the Harare football giants from Mhangura in 2000, played under Zambian coach Fewdays Musonda and Rahman Gumbo.
He played in the same team with Caps United coach Lloyd Chitembwe. Chitembwe expressed shock at the death of his former team mate. He said it was a sad loss.
“I am shocked by his death. He was my teammate. He joined from Mhangura. I am really saddened his death,” Chitembwe said.
Phiri’s sister Naome, who had been staying with him up to the time of his death, said he would be buried in Nyabira.
She said funeral arrangements were still being made, but he was likely to be buried tomorrow in Nyabira.
