Zifa Eastern Region Division One log leaders Buffaloes carried on with their unbeaten run after walloping Mupandawana Football Club 5-1 at Sakubva Stadium on Saturday.

The army side are yet to taste defeat in 11 games and have been dispatching their opponents ruthlessly, having thrashed Chibi 6-2 in the previous match.

From 11 games, they have already scored an impressive 30 goals conceding just nine goals.

They are enjoying a cool breeze at summit of the standings with 29 points from 11 games, while Mutoko Traders are in second position with 25 points from the same number of matches.

They were awarded three points without kicking a ball after Calvary FC failed to fulfil their fixture.

Yadah FC continued to pile pressure on the leading pack with a fine 3-0 win and they are in third position with 24 points, having played the same number of matches as log leaders Buffaloes.

In an interview yesterday, Buffaloes head coach Ndega Matsika said they were not getting ahead of themselves.

“We are not putting ourselves under unnecessary pressure. We are taking each game as it comes. This is a tough league. We need to be focused and this is not the time to be excited,” he said.

“We have an experienced side with talented young stars. We are not yet looking at promotion. We just need to win our games. What will happen will be a bonus.”
