South Africa is one of seven countries considered as a possible venue for the heavyweight boxing title fight between Wladimir Klitschko and David Haye.
The fight between the Ukrainian and the Briton will take place on June 25 or July 2, Klitschko’s manager announced in Berlin.
Bernd Bonte said Germany, Russia, the United Arab Emirates and South Africa were among the countries interested in playing host for the eagerly awaited fight.
No final decision about the venue has been made but “the contracts are finalised,” Bonte told a German newspaper, Die Welt.
Klitschko will defend his WBO and IBF heavyweight titles. Haye holds the WBA belt.
Klitschko’s elder brother, Vitali, will put his WBC heavyweight title on the line against Poland’s Tomasz Adamek on September 10.

Haye, who has conducted a long-running war of words with the brothers, has said he wants to beat both of them.
“Once I have knocked out Wladimir, then it’s on to his older brother,” the big-talking Briton promised.—Supersport
