Under -20 women soccer team head coach Langton Giwa will be banking on experience when his charges take on Mozambique in the first round first leg of the 2012 Fifa Under-20 Womens World Cup qualifiers this weekend.
The match is set for Rufaro on Sunday with the return leg being played a fortnight later in Maputo.
Giwa, whose side lost 0-4 to South Africa in one of their warm-up matches, said the presence of six players from the senior team will boost their chances of cruising to the next round of the competition.
The team has in its ranks defensive midfielder Immaculate Msipa, central defender Danai Bhobho, Rutendo Makore, goalkeeper Portia Makutya, twin strikers Rufaro Machingura and the lanky Rudo Neshamba.
We want to be the first soccer team to qualify for the World Cup in this country and our preparations are going very well, said Giwa. Giwa said the team will be trimmed to 18 tomorrow, but those who would have been dropped will remain part of the teams plans.
Two winners of the third round matches to be played in May will qualify directly to the 2012 Fifa U-20 Womens World Cup which will be held from August 18 September 9 in Uzbekistan.
