Resurgent Vainona High School made it three wins from three matches with a convincing 38-0 drubbing of St Johns Emerald Hill on the penultimate day of the Cottco Schools rugby festival at Prince Edward High School on Friday.
With the win, Vainona, who are now under the tutelage of former Young Sables coach, Nsikelelo Sibanda underlined their status as one of the schoolboy rugby teams on the rise.
Mutare Boys High also completed a clean sweep after a 10-0 win over St Ignatius while Cranborne recorded an emphatic 39-5 win over St Johns Chikwaka with Ellis Robbins dismissing South Eastern College 23-8.
In the schoolgirls matches Girls High beat Eaglesvale 3-0 courtesy of a lone penalty while George Stark edged Eaglesvale 5-0.
The curtain comes down on the Cottco Schools Rugby festival on Saturday following a week of non-stop schools rugby action at Prince Edward School this week.
Scouts from the prestigious Sharks Academy, who were expected in the country Friday night, are expected to grace the last day of the festival.

The South African Super 14 franchise also graced last years festival in the hope they might find more Tendai Beast Mtawariras.
The Zimbabwean-born prop Mtawarira, who also played at the Cottco Schools rugby festival as a schoolboys is a product of the academy and has gone on to be a key figure in the Springboks set-up.
In some of the matches lined up for Saturday South African schools side St Martins play againist Allan Wilson while an impressive Falcon College clash againist an equally talented St Johns side.
Churchill, who are still fresh from a win over Eaglesvale on Thursday take on Kyle College while Peterhouse take on St Georges in a clash of the giants.
In a battle of the unbeaten side, Prince Edward tackle South African side Sarel Cilliers who are also unbeaten after wins againist Churchill and Lomagundi.
