Former Premiership side Bantu Rovers shot to the top of the Zifa Southern Region Division One football league after posting two victories at the weekend.
Bantu Rovers beat ZPC Hwange 2-0 at Luveve Stadium on Friday before dismissing another ex-top flight football side Zimbabwe Saints 1-0 at the same venue on Sunday. The two wins ensured the Reuben Tsengwa-coached Tshintsha Guluva collected six points and are now on 21 points from nine matches.
How Mine, however, remain gnawing at Bantu Rovers’ heels after dispatching New West City 5-2 at the gold mine on Friday.
The gold miners are on 20 points from nine matches. ZPC Hwange remain perched on position three despite the 2-0 loss to Bantu Rovers on Friday with 16 points from eight matches, followed by Tsholotsho FC, who drew 1-1 with Power Cosmos in Tsholotsho.
Newcomers, Tsholotsho, rose from position six to four dislodging Railstars and New West City, who were defeated at the weekend.
Railstars fell 2-1 to police side Black Boots at Fairbridge on Sunday and slipped to position five from four, making way for Tsholotsho although the two sides are neck-on-neck on 15 points from eight matches.

Black Boots went on to beat Emakhandeni Pirates 2-0 in Fairbridge and they moved from 14th to eighth position.
