BULAWAYO, Aug. 18 (NewsDay Live) — Highlanders’ centenary celebrations will take a lighter turn on Friday when supporters and arts lovers gather at the Bulawayo Large City Hall for the Comedy Roast Bosso@100.
Organised by Umahlekisa Entertainment, the event is scheduled for Aug. 21 and will blend football, music, theatre and comedy to celebrate and poke fun at the 100-year history of one of Zimbabwe’s oldest and most supported football clubs.
The show starts at 6 p.m. and will feature live performances depicting Highlanders’ journey over the past century.
“All Highlanders Football Club supporting chapters wishing to attend are invited to come in numbers,” organisers said in a notice to supporters.
Special packages have been prepared for supporters’ chapters, including reserved seating and recognition at the venue and during the livestream.
Part of the proceeds from ticket sales will also go toward supporting Highlanders, giving supporters an opportunity to contribute to the club while enjoying the show.

Diaspora supporters will be able to follow the event through a pay-per-view livestream, with supporting chapters encouraged to organise watch parties.
Highlanders, formed in 1926, has been marking its centenary year with a programme of sporting, social and cultural activities celebrating the club’s history and contribution to Zimbabwean football.
Tickets are priced at US$10 for general admission, US$20 for VIP and US$50 for VVIP.
Organisers have encouraged supporters to embrace the event’s black-and-white theme by dressing in their best sports fashion.
“Since this is a Black and White Carpet event, come dressed in your best sports fashion and show why Endala Inkulu,” organisers said.
The comedy roast adds an entertainment dimension to Highlanders’ centenary programme, bringing together the club’s football identity and Bulawayo’s arts and entertainment scene.
