THE state-of-the-art Hills Lifestyle Estate Golf Course officially opened its driving range yesterday, marking a significant milestone in the development of what is set to become a world-class golfing and lifestyle destination.
The championship course, currently under construction by globally renowned golf course architect Peter Matkovich, is on track for completion by the end of this year. To mark the occasion, the driving range is now open to the public, offering a promotional rate of US$20 for unlimited balls — giving golf enthusiasts an early taste of the high-calibre facility in development.
The official opening ceremony attracted several dignitaries, including former Industry and Commerce minister Mike Bimha, who joined golfers, stakeholders, and community members in witnessing the estate’s progress.
WestProp Holdings chief executive officer Ken Sharpe expressed pride in the project’s momentum, saying the vision of a premier lifestyle destination is rapidly becoming reality.
“We’re excited to officially open the driving range this early April. As you can see, there is a lot of interest — great energy and strong participation. Several golfers have already signed up for memberships, which shows the enthusiasm around this development,” said Sharpe.
He noted that on-the-ground progress is now matching the ambitious digital renderings that first introduced the project to the public.

“You can see the vision starting to become real. As we go up to holes 16, 17, and 18, it is starting to come into place, but hole 17 is really looking spectacular — world-class. This is the kind of standard we want; we're raising the bar. This is the first international quality course in Zimbabwe, the USGA championship course."
Looking ahead, Sharpe outlined timelines for completion and the official launch of the full course.
“We aim to complete the course by the end of the year and officially open it on January 15, 2027. This will be one of Zimbabwe’s crown jewels. International golfers will travel here specifically to play this course,” he said.
Beyond golf, the Hills Lifestyle Estate is being positioned as a multi-sport and lifestyle hub, integrating luxury living with elite sporting facilities, wellness spaces, and recreation infrastructure.
The estate’s sporting offering has recently expanded through a partnership with Benjamin and Courtney Lock, who will establish a tennis academy on-site. The development will also include facilities for swimming, padel tennis, five-a-side football, and professional golf training.
As the driving range opens to the public, the project underscores WestProp Holdings’ commitment to delivering a world-class lifestyle destination in Zimbabwe.
