DYNAMOS yesterday paid a heartfelt visit to one of its most loyal supporters, Ronald Mujuru, to offer condolences following the tragic loss of his wife and five children in a car accident last week.

The tragedy, which has sent shockwaves across the country, claimed the lives of six members of the Mujuru family. Mujuru, a passionate DeMbare supporter, received the Dynamos delegation at his family home in Tynwald, where players and officials offered condolences and support.

The visit by players, team officials and a contingent of supporters served as a poignant reminder of the deep bond between the club and its fan base.

The sombre gathering followed a high-profile visit from First Lady Auxillia Mnangagwa, who also visited the family on Tuesday.

Leading Dynamos cheerleader Chris “Romario” Musekiwa, who accompanied the team, praised the Vincent Chawonza-led executive for visiting Mujuru and standing by him during his darkest hour.

“This is a good gesture by our club. They came through at a very difficult moment for one of our own, and we really appreciate the leaders of the club for this,” Musekiwa said.

“This shows that the club also cares for its supporters. We should continue with this unity in good and bad situations. This is the only way we can move our club forward.”

The Mujuru family expressed deep gratitude for the visit, offering their own blessings to the team for the remainder of the season, despite their grief.

The club had already begun its tribute on the pitch.

Before their Castle Lager Premier Soccer League clash against Simba Bhora on Saturday, a sombre minute of silence was observed at Wadzanayi stadium in honour of the Mujuru family.

The Genesis Mangombe-coached side channelled the emotional weight of the week into a clinical performance on the field. The Glamour Boys secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory, courtesy of a moment of brilliance—a stunning wonder goal from Frank Agyemang.

The three points proved vital for Dynamos' title aspirations.

As the league table takes shape after six rounds, the Harare giants moved to 14 points, hot on the heels of their city rivals Caps United who are on 15 points.

With the gap at the top narrowed to just a single point, the momentum is firmly with the blue half of the capital.

Dynamos return to Rufaro Stadium this Sunday to host FC Platinum in a high-stakes encounter that will test the resolve of Mangombe’s men as they look to maintain their title charge while carrying the spirit of the grieving Mujuru family with them.
