FORMER FC Platinum defender Zephaniah Ngodzo, one of the eight senior players who were off-loaded by the Zvishavane side this week, is being eyed by Caps United and newly-promoted Premiership side How Mine. REPORT BY SUKOLUHLE MTHETHWA SPORTS REPORTER

Ngodzo confirmed that the two clubs were after his services.

“Caps United and How Mine have indicated that they both want me to join them. But I am yet to decide which team to join. I am still weighing my options,” said the ex-Platinum captain.

Ngodzo is part of the players who have been transfer-listed despite Platinum reportedly paying his Asiagate fine last week.

Benjamin Marere, veteran defender Norman Togara, Cabby Kamhapa, Thandazani Ndlovu, Hardlife Mavundi, Rowen Nenzou and Tsungi Mudzamiri are other players who were offloaded.

Platinum has appointed a new executive led by president George Mawere while Tennant Chilumba has taken over as head coach. Chilumba has retained Tendai Chikuni as his first assistant while goalkeepers’ coach Peter Nkomo is likely to stay. Ngodzo said he was not bitter about the new developments.

“I am not angry that I am no longer at FC Platinum. When I joined them, I had also moved from another club so I will move again. As long as I can still play football and I am injury-free, then I will just keep doing my job,” he said.

He joined FC Platinum at the end of the 2010 season when his contract expired together with his brother Joel Ngodzo from Highlanders.

The Ngodzo brothers were also joined in the trek to Zvishavane by three other former Highlanders players Francis Kanda, Louis Matawu and Gilbert Banda.

Other players who also joined FC Platinum are former Footballer of the Year Charles Sibanda and Bhekimpilo Ncube from Motor Action, and Norman Maroto and Daniel Veremu.

Ncube is now at Highlanders while Maroto has returned to Zvishavane following the expiry of his loan deal at Motor Action.
