HARARE, Apr. 3 (NewsDay Live) – Southern Rocks held firm to clinch the 2025/26 CABS Logan Cup after a controlled draw against Eagles at Harare Sports Club on Thursday.

Starting the round seven points clear, Rocks protected their advantage to finish on 110 points, with Eagles closing on 103.

The title was anchored by a disciplined batting effort. Openers Innocent Kaia and Matthew Campbell struck centuries to blunt the new ball, while Tafadzwa Tsiga’s unbeaten ton ensured Rocks turned control into a decisive 202-run lead.

Eagles had declared on 362/8, led by Craig Ervine’s 108, with support from Tinashe Kamunhukamwe (53) and Ryan Kwamwemba (71). But Rocks replied emphatically, posting 564/8 declared, with Campbell (106), Kaia (100) and Tsiga (103*) doing the damage.

With the pitch flattening on day four, Eagles never mounted a serious push. Dion Myers (55*) and Ervine (19*) saw out the draw at 133/2, as Rocks’ bowlers kept things tight and risk-free.

Coach Njabulo Ncube said the focus was always on control.
