ZIMBABWE international striker Cuthbert Malajila has joined the big league of earners at South African Absa Premiership side Mamelodi Sundowns after penning a four-year deal, with an option of another year, reportedly worth around R150 000.

Reports from South Africa yesterday indicated that “Malajila’s new deal is significantly higher than what he was earning at Maritzburg United, with his signing on fees at Chloorkop to increase depending on his contribution every year”.
He was reported to be on R40 000 a month at Maritzburg, just a bit higher than former Warriors striker Terrence Mandaza, who remains at the team of choice.
At Sundowns, Malajila (27) joins fellow Zimbabwean Esrom Nyandoro, who is one of the highest paid earners and has recently added two more years at the cash-rich club that will eventually see him spend close to 11 years at Chloorkop.
Nyandoro joined Wayne Arendse and Lebohang Mokoena in the first training session on Monday from the touchline, as the trio is still undergoing rehabilitation for separate medical procedures.

Nyandoro underwent a medical procedure for a recurring knee problem.
The Zimbabwean veteran is three weeks post the procedure and is also expected to be back in about ten days’ in time for the Ghana pre-season camp.
Former captain Method Mwanjali has also had one year added to his contract and is reported to be in the region of R120 000-R150 000 per month. Striker Nyasha Mushekwi is also reported to be on the same pay bracket-small change for billionaire owner Patrice Motsepe, who was worth US$2,9 billion in March.
Soon to join him could be Khama Billiat (22) from Ajax Cape Town, who could move on a reported fee of R10 million and become the club’s 10th official signing for the 2013/2014 season.
Last year, the New Age publication reported that they recently improved the salary of their prized possession Elias Pelembe of Mozambique at an estimated R480 000 a month.
Teko Modise and Katlego Mphela are reportedly earning R350 000 each. The same publication also said that former Arsenal and West Ham star Luis Boa Morte had joined former champions Orlando Pirates and was set to earn R400 000 per month. Former teammate, the now retired Benni McCarthy was reported to be earning R450 000 a month.
Motsepe has urged players to invest in their futures. Motsepe told the Siya crew that he does not mind players driving expensive cars; however they have to think about life after their playing days.
“I wouldn’t want to see the players driving fancy cars now and living in poverty after their playing days are over. I urge all the players, not just from Sundowns, but other teams as well, to think about the future and invest their money. We don’t want to see our heroes suffer in the future,” Motsepe said.
