THE Zimbabwe Under-19 women’s cricket team will leave the country tomorrow for Botswana where they will take part in a four-nation tournament featuring Mozambique, Namibia and the hosts beginning on Friday.

The four sides will play 40-over matches against each other in a round-robin format with the team that finishes top of the table being crowned the eventual champions.

Zimbabwe Under-19 women’s squad is boosted by the availability of national team players like Audrey Mazvishaya, Josephine Nkomo, Modester Mupachikwa, Anesu Mushangwe and Nomatter Mutasa.

“We are excited to take part in this competition as we are giving exposure to our feeder team to prepare them for when they make the national squad,” said women’s cricket co-ordinator Caroline Nyamande.

The Under-19 women’s squad held a week-long camp over the past two weeks where they trained alongside the senior national women’s squad.
